Use drawings, words, or numbers to explain how you got your answer.
Jerrod has a bag with 14 green marbles, 8 white marbles, 4 red marbles, and 4 black marbles. If he wants the probability of picking a green marble to be 1/2, what should Jerrod do? You can add more marbles to the bag but marbles cannot be taken out from the bag.
Answer for sheet # 248
Total number of marbles = 30
Probability of picking up a green is 14/30.
If you add 2 more green marbles, the probability of picking up a green is 16/32. Total number of marbles is now 32. 16/32 is equal to 1/2.
