Answers for sheet # 92

Let us assume father made n cookies.

Miguel took 1/ of n = n/3

cookies left = n - (n/3) = (2n/3)

Mary took 1/3 of (2n/3) = 2n/9

Cookies left = 2n/3 - (2n/9) = 4n/9

Jose took 1/3 of (4n/9) = 4n/27

Cookies left 4n/9 - (4n/27) = 8n/27

8n/27 = 16

n = 54 cookies

Father made 54 cookies

Miguel ate 18 cookies

Cookies left = 36 cookies

Mary ate = 12 cookies

Cookies left = 24 cookies

Jose ate 1/3 of 24 cookies

8 cookies

Cookies left = 16 cookies
