Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown
1. Stanley woke up Saturday and discovered that he had been flattened by a bulletin board. The bulletin board's measurements were 12 inches by 8 inches. What would the perimeter be?
2. After Stanley ate six stacks of 4 pancakes, his father took him to Doctor Dan. How many pancakes would that be?
3. Mrs. Lambchop lost her ring one afternoon when Stanley and she were taking their daily walk of 3 miles. How many miles did they walk in a week?
4. Stanley was able to tie two shoelaces to himself and get the ring out of the manhole. If each shoelace was 6 inches long, how long would two be?
5. Well, Stanley now had a cheap way to travel to California to see his friend. His dad would put him in an envelope and mail him. He had to pay 6 cents for each ounce that he weighed. He weighed 14 ounces. How much would his dad have to pay?
6. Dad arrived at the post office at 8:05 and had to wait 13 minutes in line to get the letter mailed. What time did he get through?
7. Sunday walks in the park were quite an adventure for Stanley now. His father would roll him up and tie a string around him. Dad used a string that was 1/4 of a yard long. How many inches would that be?
8. Well, Stanley even helped foil the attempts of robbers at Famous Museum. Arthur disguised himself as a shepherdess in a painting. He waited from 8:10 until 11:45 at the museum. How long was that?
9. If only now Stanley was given a reward. If Mr. Dart gave him six quarters, three dimes, five dollars, two nickels, and eight pennies, how much would he have?
10. "It's working!" Yes, Arthur pumped up his brother Stanley with a bicycle pump. There was only one problem. Arthur started at 7:45 p.m. and he didn't finish until 9:03 p.m. How long did it take for Arthur to pump up Stanley?
