1) Kim skies a distance of 4800 meters. She stops for a drink when she has run 1/3 of the distance. How far does she run before she stops for a drink?







2) In a survey, 1,000 people were asked what sports they liked the best. Of the number, 345 said ice skating, and 478 said figure skating. What part of the total number surveyed liked ice skating? What part liked figure skating?








3) Jerry has to perform three ski jumps to qualify for the finals. He needs an average score of 100 meters. He got 99 meters in the first jump, 104 meters in the second jump, and 97 meters in the third jump. Did he qualify for the finals?







4) Casey took 34 seconds to skate 500 meters. At this rate, how long will it take him to skate 1 kilometer?
